Petrof Durango International Piano Competition 2026

Mexican and international pianists up to 30 years of age are invited to participate in this important event, which will be held in person from May 17 to 25, 2026, at the Conservatory of Music of Durango.
The competition features four age-based categories: Debut, Junior, Intermediate, and Advanced. Participation includes a video pre-selection stage, for which materials must be submitted by April 20, 2026, with results to be announced on April 30. Finalists will compete in different rounds according to their category, performing formal classical music repertoire from memory.

Cash prizes and diplomas will be awarded in all categories, in addition to a special recognition for the best performance of a work by a Mexican composer. The awards ceremony and winners’ concert will take place on May 25, 2026. The jury will be composed of internationally renowned piano masters.
